Ieri, 20 luglio, è arrivata una bruttissima notizia, che ha sconvolto il mondo della musica, e un’intera generazione che era cresciuta con gli album dei Linkin Park: il frontman del gruppo, Chester Bennington, si è tolto la vita impiccandosi nella propria casa di Palos Verdes Estates, in California. Molti sono stati colpiti anche dalla ricorrenza che il 20 luglio rappresenta: ieri sarebbe infatti stato il 53esimo compleanno di Chris Cornell, grande amico di Bennington e recentemente scomparso e al cui funerale il frontman dei Linkin Park aveva cantato “Hallelujah” di Leonard Cohen.
La notizia ha colto completamente di sorpresa tutti i fan di Chester Bennington e della band, e i social sono stati inondati da messaggi di shock, di dolore, di sorpresa; di riflessioni sul ruolo del cantante nel mondo della musica. E proprio le personalità di questo ambiente hanno deciso, a loro volta, di dare il loro addio ad un grande artista, che non sarà facilmente dimenticato.
